Never Be the Same by Camila Cabello review by Emily

Hello! My name is Emily and I am currently studying Bachelor of Commerce in Professional Accounting at Macquarie University. I will be posting weekly reviews of my favourite songs in the Billboad Hot 100, I hope through this I am able to recommend you new music!

To start of my first blog, I would to give you a taste of the style of music I enjoy. My current favourite songs at the moment is Camila Cabello’s  “Never Be the Same” which currently sits at number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is part of the pop genre in Cabello's album.

The song begins with a retro tune, in the music this is accompanied with footage similar to one of a 90’s home made video with cut jumps to clips filmed in studio.  Although the song sounds upbeat at first, the lyrics have a deeper meaning.

The lyrics begin with “Something must’ve gone wrong in my brain, got your chemicals all in my vein”, indicating the strong bond of affection towards the partner. This is also reiterated through the chorus where Cabello repeats “You're in my blood, you're in my veins, you're in my head” with the love overtaking her whole body. Overall the song is very enjoyable to listen, the lyrics and music are both composed well which many listeners can relate to.

I give this song a rating a 8/10

I hope after reading this post I have convinced you to have a listen to this song and watch the music video. Also don’t forget to check out our previous blog posts and follow us on twitter! We will be posting regularly so stay TUNED for our daily blogs!
